Rheumatology

Rheumatology deals with the etiology, pathogenesis, diagnosis, non-operative treatment, prevention and rehabilitation of rheumatic diseases.

Rheumatic diseases include:

  • Degenerative and inflammatory diseases of the joints and spine, soft tissue disorders, bone and metabolic disorders, infectious and neoplastic diseases of organs of the musculoskeletal system.
  • Acute and chronic pain diseases and functional disorders with symptoms in the musculoskeletal system.
  • Systemic autoimmune and autoinflammatory diseases of connective tissue and blood vessels.
  • Diseases of the internal organs and nervous system, in so far as they are directly linked with the above-mentioned diseases
