Coronavirus: information for patients

Dear patient,

In light of the current situation regarding COVID-19/SARS-CoV-2, there will be some additional measures in place when visiting the University Hospital Basel. We ask for your understanding in this matter.

Infection with coronavirus: please notify us by phone

If a doctor has diagnosed you with the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) or you are in quarantine, please be aware that you must notify us by phone before your visit. Please note that you must also inform us by phone before your visit if you have any of the following symptoms: 

  • coughing
  • sore throat
  • shortness of breath
  • fever
  • sudden loss of sense of taste or smell

You will find the clinic’s phone number in the appointment invitation. Please also report such symptoms when entering the hospital, at the information desk and in the clinic.

Please maintain social distancing

Maintain 1.5 metres’ distance from other patients whenever possible.

Follow the instructions of staff and any social distancing markers.

Wear a mask

Mask-wearing is compulsory for patients and those accompanying them when indoors at University Hospital Basel. Masks are available from the information desks in Centre 1 (Spitalstrasse 21) and Centre 2 (Petersgraben 4).
