Prof. Dr. habil. Annegret Mündermann Ph.D.
Head Functional Biomechanics Group
Anne previously worked at Stanford University (USA), University of Otago (New Zealand) and University of Konstanz (Germany) before moving to the University Hospital Basel to head the functional biomechanics group. Her research experience ranges from running biomechanics to cartilage mechanosensitivity in health and disease.

Dr. phil. Corina Nüesch
Associate Head Functional Biomechanics Group
Corina received her M.Sc. from ETH Zurich and her PhD in Bioengineering from the University of Basel. She has directed the Basel Functional Biomechanics Laboratory since 2015. Corina's research interests include biomechanical and neuromuscular adaptations in patients with osteoarthritis and application of pattern recognition methods for the analysis of motion and EMG data.

Dr. med. Filippo Mandelli
Research Fellow
Resident, Spinal Surgery, Orthopaedics and Traumatologie
Filippo studies the functional outcome of conservative and surgical treatment in patients with cervical spinal stenosis.

Simon Herger M.Sc.
PhD Candidate
Simon received his Master of Science in Sport Science from the University of Basel in 2018. He joined the BFBL in 2019 as a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel and studies the dose response relationship of ambulatory load magnitude and the mechanoresponse of articular cartilage.

Linda Bühl M.Sc.
PhD Candidate
Linda received her Master of Science in Sport Science (Movement and Technology from the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology in 2020. She already conducted her Master thesis research at the BFBL in 2019 and is currently a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel. Linda studies biomechanical outcome of surgical repair in patients with ACL injury in comparison to patients with ACL reconstruction and age-matched healthy controls.

Eleonora Croci M.Sc.
PhD Candidate
Eleonora received her Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Biomechanics from the ETH Zürich in 2019. She then worked in the medtech industry for one year and is currently a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel. Eleonora studies load-induced shoulder instability in patients with rotator cuff tear.

Jeremy Genter M.Sc.
PhD Candidate
Jeremy received his Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering/Biomechanical Systems from the University in Bern in 2020. He is currently a PhD candidate in Biomedical Engineering at the University of Basel and will conduct his research on simulator based load-induced shoulder instability with rotator cuff tear at the School of Engineering at the Zurich University of Applied Sciences (ZHAW) in Winterthur in the group of Prof Baumgartner.

Birte primarily assists our project on ACL primary repair and reconstruction.

Michael Hächler B.Sc.
M.Sc. Candidate
Michael studies the in vivo mechanosensitivity of articular cartilage.

Jan Egloff B.Sc.
M.Sc. Candidate
Jan studies biomechanical aspects of hip arthroplasty.

Niklas Bleichner B.Sc.
M.Sc. Candidate
Niklas studies gait biomechanics in patients after ACL repair and patients after surgical treatment of hamstring tendon rupture.
