University Hospital Basel climbs to third in Swiss hospital rankings

The American news magazine Newsweek has awarded the University Hospital Basel third place in its ranking of Swiss hospitals. In the global list, USB came 35th out of more than 2,000 hospitals in 25 countries. The ranking is based on analyses of patient questionnaires, quality assessments and a survey of nurses, doctors and other health care professionals.

The University Hospital Basel has achieved a podium place in a renowned hospital ranking. Its improvement by one place over the previous assessment period saw USB climb to third in a ranking of the best Swiss hospitals. The study, which was carried out by the American news magazine Newsweek in collaboration with the statistics company Statista, analysed data from patient questionnaires, quality indices and surveys of health care professionals (doctors, nurses and hospital management staff).

We are also delighted that the University Hospital Basel has now reached number 35 in Newsweek’s ranking of the world’s best hospitals. In total, data from more than 2,000 hospitals in 25 countries was analysed. USB believes that this excellent, neutral rating confirms that its strategy is working, and that it will motivate the hospital to continue on its current course.
