Nursing in the Breast Care Centre

Breast cancer often requires surgery to remove the tumour, and this can affect the patient’s body image. Chemotherapy, radiotherapy and hormone therapy also have side-effects. What should I expect from the treatment? We specialise in such questions and support patients through the entire course of their illness – from initial diagnosis to aftercare. Here we offer in-depth advice on the effects and symptoms of the treatments and discuss any changes in the patient’s body image following surgery. Our nursing team includes dedicated cancer specialists: the Breast Care Nurses. They contact you as early as the diagnosis stage, support you while in hospital and also act as the main point of contact to help you deal with any issues following treatment.
