Thema: Brain atrophy measurements: underlying imaging technology and re-use for imaging beyond the brain

Abstract

MR-based automated brain tissue classification and the computation of quantitative volumetric values and atrophy rates of brain tissues and structures are of interest for a better understanding of numerous brain diseases. In this presentation, we will discuss the underlying imaging technologies such as automated quality assessment, data consistency control and FID based motion detection and correction strategies. The goal of this presentation is to stimulate thoughts on the potential reuse of the discussed developments for other applications than brain imaging
