Reporting requirements
Request for medical documents for referring physicians
If you require further medical information on your patients or if you do not use the USB ePortal, the team at the Medical Documentation Service Center is at your disposal.
If the requested documents are available, you will receive them within one day. If documents are missing, the Medical Documentation Service Center team will take care of further communication with the relevant clinic.

Entry and exit information and reports by e-mail
Early and sufficient information on the treatment of your patients at the USB is important for you as a general practitioner or referring physician. A new free service from the University Hospital Basel offers you the opportunity to receive automated admission and discharge information by e-mail.
These are generated for inpatient cases with contact information of the respective clinics and sent by HIN-secured e-mail to the patient's family doctors and referring physicians. You will also receive the discharge report from most clinics. Any other reports can be viewed and downloaded as usual in the USB ePortal.
Admission for people with a disability
Our disability officer is available as a contact person for patients with a disability.
Registration USB ePortal
The USB ePortal offers referring general practitioners and specialists a simple and clear way of viewing current patient reports and downloading them in pdf format for practice documentation.
After finalization by the attending physician, the reports are automatically uploaded to the USB ePortal and are available for a period of two years. In addition, appointments for the past two weeks and future planned appointments are displayed.

Registration USB-Web
As an assignor, you can log in again on the website.
To do this, you need either a USB ePortal or a USB web login.
Registering for the USB-Web is easy. All you need is your name, e-mail and GLN number.
Once logged in, the direct telephone numbers and e-mail addresses of all doctors are displayed on the entire website of the University Hospital Basel, regardless of whether you are in the referring physician area or elsewhere on the website.
Change of address
Note: Your change of address will be updated in the central electronic medical directory, which supplies the most important applications. Unfortunately, we cannot guarantee a complete transfer to all doctors' files in the USB due to the decentralized way of working.
