Coming from the A2/A3, follow the signs for

  • Basel-Süd/City
  • Exit Basel-Süd/West Universitätsspital
  • University Hospital
  • City-Parking

You have the option of parking in the nearby public parking garage "City" (Schanzenstrasse 48/Klingelbergstrasse 20, 4056 Basel, www.parkleitsystem-basel.ch). We would like to point out that we have no influence on the parking fees.

There are parking bays in front of K1 (Spitalstrasse 21) and in front of K2 (Petersgraben 4) for patients to get in and out of the car park.

From SBB station to the University Hospital Basel

  • Streetcar 11 (direction St. Louis Grenze) to station Universitätsspital
  • Bus 30 (direction Badischer Bahnhof) to Kinderspital UKBB stop

The main overview of the University Hospital Basel with all clinics

The room numbers at the University Hospital Basel follow a specific system.

Example: Room 1561

  • The first digit indicates the clinic in which the room is located:
    1=clinic 1 (incl. women's clinic)
  • The second digit indicates the floor on which the room is located:
    5 = 5th floor
  • The last two digits indicate the room number:
    61 = room 61

We are currently introducing a new wayfinding system and new signage.

It is possible that you will find both spellings during the changeover.

The room numbers are the same as before, but we are omitting the first digit of the old

of the old four-digit number.

Example: Surgery B4.5 / Room 5.61

  • Follow the signs to the ward where the room is located:
    Surgery B4.5 = Building B, Area 4, Floor 5
  • The first number before the dot again indicates the floor:
    5th = 5th floor
  • The last two digits indicate the room number:
    61 = Room 61
