Catering at the University Hospital Basel
Our aim is to provide patients with the best possible culinary care from the moment they are admitted until they are discharged. We provide healthy, varied and tasty meals for our patients and hospital staff. Visitors also have the opportunity to benefit from our culinary offerings.
Hotel Services
Our kitchen uses mainly seasonal food from the region from certified producers for your menus. Using the innovative MicroPast process, the dishes are cooked in a way that is gentle on vitamins and at the same time preserved. This has the advantage for you that all meals from the menu are usually available at any time.
We normally serve meals at the following times:
Breakfast between 7.30 and 8.30 a.m.
Lunch between 11.45 am and 1 pm
Dinner between 5.30 and 7 p.m.
Please contact us if you would like to have your meal outside these times. We are also happy to serve your guests for a fee.
As a semi-private or private patient, you can enjoy additional hotel services.
Restaurants
You and your guests are very welcome in our restaurants "Giardino" in Clinic 1 and "Punto" in Clinic 2. You can expect a varied range of hot and cold dishes and snacks with wonderfully sunny terraces. Treat yourself to a break there.
Giardino
With its magnificent listed murals and the wonderful view of the hospital garden, the Giardino invites you to linger. Treat yourself to a break and try our fresh salads, sandwiches or a Giardino Bowl. Or browse through our selected kiosk range of daily newspapers, magazines and gifts.

Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 9 am to 6 pm

Punto
Enjoy fresh, crispy baked pizzas, homemade patisserie, sandwiches and much more at Punto - the perfect mix for a quick snack at lunchtime or between meals.

Monday to Friday: 7 am to 6 pm
Saturday, Sunday and public holidays: 10 a.m. to 5.30 p.m.

Kiosk
Here you will find a nice selection of common kiosk articles. The range includes a Lavazza coffee corner (coffee, espresso, latte macchiato), croissants, lottery tickets, newspapers, magazines, books, kiosk articles, drinks and much more.

Food vending machine
There is a drinks/coffee vending machine on each floor of the wards in Clinic 2. There are also vending machines on the 5th and 7th floors.
