Our interdisciplinary center, which is unique in Switzerland, specializes in the detection and treatment of musculoskeletal infections. Our interdisciplinary center consists of specialists in orthopaedics/traumatology, infectiology and plastic surgery, as well as specialized nursing staff. We work closely with specialists in internal medicine, angiology, diabetology, vascular surgery, dermatology and, if necessary, other disciplines at the university hospital. Musculoskeletal infections can affect bones, joints, muscles or tendons. They are particularly difficult to treat if joint prostheses or other implants are involved.

The focal points of our center are
- Infections of joint prostheses
- Infections after bone fractures
- Infections in diabetic foot syndrome
These infections usually have a major impact on the lives of the people affected. As part of an interdisciplinary team, we draw up a specific diagnosis and treatment plan for each patient based on the latest scientific findings. In doing so, we take into account the patient's individual medical history, concomitant illnesses and wishes.
We support, advise and treat our patients in close cooperation with pre-treatment physicians, general practitioners and rehabilitation clinics. Thanks to our lively clinical and scientific activities, we are also well networked nationally and internationally.
