For our privately and semi-privately insured patients, we offer personal service of the highest standard at the University Hospital Basel. We give you access to therapies and treatments at the highest university level and according to the latest scientific findings. In addition to the excellent medical and nursing quality, you will also benefit from an inviting infrastructure and an exceptional culinary offering during your stay with us.

For privately insured persons

  • With us, you are free to choose your specialist. You can be treated by an experienced head physician or by a deputy with the appropriate authorization.
  • You have a right of veto over the choice of doctors who will treat you. The team of doctors you choose will be at your side throughout your treatment.
  • You will receive a daily ward round and personal care from the attending specialist.
  • A ward round by the head nurse is also included during your inpatient stay.
  • You benefit from comfortable rooms and facilities with single rooms, a separate foyer on the private ward, air conditioning, recliners and a large LED TV.
  • A wide range of daily and Sunday newspapers of your choice is available.

  • Enjoy an afternoon tea with exquisite teas, coffee, aperitif and homemade patisserie.
  • Taxibon for arrival and departure (within 30 km).

For semi-privately insured persons

  • You have a right of veto over the choice of doctors who treat you. The team of doctors you choose will be at your side throughout your treatment.
  • You will receive a daily ward round and personal care from the specialist treating you.
  • Comfortable rooms and facilities with twin beds and armchairs (without relax function).
  • An extended range of daily and Sunday newspapers of your choice is available.
