swissRITA is a reference center recognized by kosek.
A reference center of the National Coordination of Rare Diseases (kosek) meets high standards in the care, education and research of rare diseases. It offers specialized consultation hours as well as information and coordinates a lifelong offer for those affected. The aim is to provide the best possible support and care for children, adolescents and adults with rare diseases.
The University Center for Rare Diseases Basel is a joint service of the UKBB and the University Hospital Basel USB. Since 2020, this service has been recognized by kosek, which is committed to improving the care situation for those affected by rare diseases.

Our interdisciplinary boards
Das interdisziplinäre Board für Vaskuläre Anomalien (IVAB) tagt alle 2 Wochen. Hier werden sowohl pädiatrische als auch erwachsene Patienten interdisziplinär besprochen und Therapien festgelegt. Auch die Transition, d.h. die Übergabe der Behandlung vom UKBB an das USB wird in diesem Board eingeleitet.
Aufgrund der kinderchirurgischen Kooperation mit dem Kinderspital Zürich im Bereich der vaskulären Anomalien werden die Patienten auch regelmässig am VABZ (Vascular Anomaly Board Zürich) besprochen.
