Breast augmentation can be performed using implants or autologous fat. Lost volume after pregnancy/breastfeeding or weight loss can be replaced and the shape optimized. Asymmetries can also be corrected.

Implants typically contain silicone. They can be positioned differently depending on anatomy and preference and can be implanted through different incisions. In augmentation with autologous fat, the fat is first removed (liposuction) in a single operation, which is then processed and injected into the breast in the second part of the operation. A moderate breast augmentation can usually be achieved in one session. If a large breast is desired, the augmentation is performed in several operations. Let us advise you on the advantages and disadvantages of the various methods.

Breast reduction (mamma reduction)

Treatment information

  • During a breast reduction, we remove excess breast tissue and skin. The areola (areola) is repositioned and often reduced in size. We then reshape and harmonize the remaining breast tissue.
  • The treatment usually takes about 2 to 3 hours
  • Downtime: 2 to 3 weeks

  • 4 to 6 weeks
  • Final result after approx. 12 months

  • General anesthesia

  • from CHF 11,000

To make an appointment, you can contact us by telephone on +41 61 265 25 70 or by e-mail at margarethenklinik@usb.ch. Alternatively, you can also use our online appointment booking tool.

During a breast reduction, excess mammary gland tissue, fat and skin are removed to reduce and tighten the breast. If desired, the often wide areola can also be reduced. After the procedure, patients describe significant relief in the shoulder girdle area and an improved body sensation. If the breasts are very large and there is evidence of postural damage, the procedure can be covered by health insurance.

Breast lift (mastopexy)

Treatment information

  • During a breast lift (mastopexy), the breast tissue is reshaped, the skin is tightened and the nipple is moved to a higher position.
  • The treatment usually takes about 2 to 3 hours
  • Downtime: 2 to 3 weeks

  • 4 to 6 weeks
  • Final result after approx. 12 months

  • General anesthesia

  • from 9'500 CHF

To make an appointment, you can contact us by telephone on +41 61 265 25 70 or by e-mail at margarethenklinik@usb.ch. Alternatively, you can also use our online appointment booking tool.

After pregnancy and breastfeeding, after weight loss or simply with age, the tissue often sags and the breasts sag. In a mastopexy, or breast lift, the breast is lifted by removing excess skin. The tissue around the breast is tightened to shape it.

If desired, a large areola can be reduced in size. However, a significant change in breast size cannot be achieved by lifting alone. This requires a combination of a breast lift with breast augmentation using implants or autologous fat.

Male breast (gynecomastia)

Treatment information

  • The first step is to suction out the excess fat (liposuction). The glandular body is then completely removed surgically.
  • The treatment usually takes 1 to 2 hours
  • Downtime: 1 to 2 weeks

  • 4-6 weeks, final result 6 months

  • Local anesthesia or general anesthesia

  • from CHF 5,000

To make an appointment, you can contact us by telephone on +41 61 265 25 70 or by e-mail at margarethenklinik@usb.ch. Alternatively, you can also use our online appointment booking tool.

Male breasts can be very stressful for affected men. Breast development in men can have different causes. In the case of pathological changes, health insurance covers the costs of treatment.

A distinction is made between a fatty breast (lipomastia) and a "real" glandular breast (gynecomastia). Treatment can vary accordingly: sometimes simple liposuction is sufficient, in more pronounced cases the glandular body must be removed (mastectomy) and or a skin tightening procedure performed, usually around the areola, which is also reduced in size.

Corrective procedures following aesthetic breast surgery refer to surgical measures aimed at improving or correcting undesirable results or complications that have arisen following previous breast surgery.

These procedures may involve various aspects of breast shape, size or symmetry and are tailored to the individual patient's needs. Possible corrective measures could include adjusting the position of implants, correcting asymmetries or treating scars.

Corrective procedures after aesthetic surgery and treatment of complications: BIA-ALCL

Treatment information

  • Time to final result: 4 to 6 weeks

  • General anesthesia

When the body recognizes breast implants as foreign bodies, it forms a scar tissue capsule around them. In most cases, this capsule is delicate and not a problem for the implant wearer, but depending on the predisposition, it can lead to a so-called capsular contracture - a contraction of the capsule that manifests itself as a nodular, hard and sometimes painful deformation of the breast. Our experts will discuss your options with you in this case or if you would like a new implant size.
