Infectious orthopaedic consultation

We advise and treat patients with infections of the musculoskeletal system or with a suspected diagnosis in our interdisciplinary orthopaedic infection consultation. We focus on prosthesis-associated infections, fracture-associated infections, osteomyelitis and arthritis of native joints.

Orthoplastic consultation

Patients with infections of the musculoskeletal system often have a defect in the surrounding soft tissue (skin, subcutaneous fatty tissue, tendon, nerves) in addition to osteomyelitis. For successful osteomyelitis treatment and a good functional result, the soft tissue defect must be reconstructed. This soft tissue reconstruction is carried out in collaboration with the Clinic for Plastic, Reconstructive, Aesthetic and Hand Surgery. Surgical planning, follow-up checks and conservative wound management are carried out in the orthoplastic consultation hours in close cooperation with the orthopaedic infection consultation hours.

Interdisciplinary "Diabetic foot" consultation

Patients affected by diabetic foot syndrome (DFS) often require a variety of clarifications and examinations from different disciplines.

In order to improve treatment, make it easier for patients to coordinate these examinations and avoid unnecessary examinations, we offer the interdisciplinary "Diabetic foot" consultation.

Together with the patient, we gain an initial overview of the individual requirements and then initiate the necessary investigations/treatment. This is done in close cooperation with the Department of Angiology, Diabetology, Wound Consultation and Dermatology, as well as external orthopaedic technicians if required.
