Internal Medicine working group

The aim of our research activities is to improve the diagnostic and therapeutic processes for hospitalized internal medicine patients. This involves, for example, the question of how diagnostic considerations can be improved so that the correct diagnosis can be made quickly, how errors can be avoided (incorrect diagnosis or incorrect administration of medication, for example), which diagnostic tests should be carried out and which unnecessary examinations or treatments should be avoided. On the therapeutic side, we deal with the correct use of medication (especially antibiotics) and how to deal with the problem of polypharmacy (administration of many different medications).
