Bone and soft tissue tumors
The Center for Bone and Soft Tissue Tumors combines diagnostic, surgical and medical expertise for the treatment of patients with benign and malignant tumors of the musculoskeletal system.
Treatment of sarcoma patients
The cooperation between the University Children's Hospital Basel (UKBB) and the University Hospital Basel combines the expertise of both pediatricians and adult physicians. As a result, sarcoma patients of all age groups can be treated in a highly qualified interdisciplinary clinic structure.
Care
Benign or malignant bone and soft tissue tumors can occur in adults, but also in children. For this reason, there is close cooperation between the University Hospital Basel and the University Children's Hospital Basel. Many patients with a bone or soft tissue tumor experience physical, psychological and social changes as a result of the disease and treatment. The two specialized nursing staff are available as contact persons during the treatment continuum for questions and challenges that arise in the daily lives of those affected. Nursing care is provided on an inpatient and/or outpatient basis as required and possible. In order to meet the needs of those affected, we also work closely with the patient organization swiss sarcoma.
