Women's Clinic Emergency

The gynaecological and obstetric emergency is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week, and treats patients with acute and emergency gynaecological or obstetric complaints.

Please note: Our triage nursing team endeavours to treat patients according to the urgency of their condition and not according to the order in which they arrive. Unfortunately, this may result in waiting times, and we ask for your understanding. We are aware that many women do not have a gynaecologist. As a rule, we treat every woman who wishes to make use of our services. However, depending on how busy we are, you may have to wait several hours for treatment.

If your visit is not an emergency, we therefore ask you to make a regular appointment during one of our consultation hours or with a private gynaecologist.

Arriving by car in emergencies

In emergencies, the driveway at Schanzenstrasse 45 may be used for stopping (but not for parking).

We support and advise women who have been affected by sexual or physical violence. On the one hand, we provide medical and psychological assistance and support in coping with the trauma suffered. On the other hand, we work with the Institute of Forensic Medicine to gather evidence and secure traces with a view to prosecuting the perpetrator.

Initial care in an acute situation is provided around the clock at the emergency room of the women's clinic. The examination is always carried out by a female doctor.

Registration:

• By the police after a report has been filed
• By the Institute of Forensic Medicine
• Directly by the victim of violence or their accompanying person
