Block course in surgical gynecologic oncology

The surgical treatment of gynecological carcinoma is the central therapy regimen in gynecological oncology. The operation alone requires important knowledge of anatomy, technical skills and good teamwork between different disciplines. Preparation and follow-up, dealing with dangers or complications as well as prudence and resilience in critical situations are just as important as the operation itself. The indication should be coordinated preoperatively on an interdisciplinary basis and recovery afterwards must be accompanied by interprofessional support. Only in this way can a complex procedure, such as gynecological cancer surgery, be performed without complications and benefit the patient's prognosis.

Using lectures, case studies, films and interactive discussions, we will develop an understanding of the various carcinoma diseases and their surgical treatment. There will be space to discuss your own cases or questions that concern you or that you have been confronted with.
