Departments, clinics, medical centers

Six medical departments form the core business of the University Hospital Basel. Each department is headed by an interprofessional team of three: medical department management, nursing/MTT department management and business department management. The clinics are organized on the basis of organ- and disease-related synergies in the departments. There is also a further department that is responsible for overarching processes, planning and management.

The medical centers have an interdisciplinary and interprofessional structure. They are geared towards the needs of patients with complex diagnoses. By practising interdisciplinarity and interprofessionalism, we ensure even better coordination between all specialists involved in diagnostics and treatment.
